It’s such a delight to share with you our Women of Sensual Seed conversation with Jennifer Karlich. I always come away feeling so nourished and more connected being in her presence.
Jennifer is a connector, an appreciator and a woman who trusts pleasure as her compass to lead her through rupture and into radiance. Jennifer delights in guiding women back into the wisdom within their bodies and to empowering our children with the language of emotional intelligence.
She is a Qoya teacher, Reiki practitioner, a Laughter Yoga Leader and Teacher, an Inamojo teacher in training and the found of The Joy space, a studio in Carnegie, Melbourne that exists to help you tap into your magic and brilliance. The space is host to tools, classes and activities that encourage you to trust yourself and to stop hurtling through life on auto pilot. Most recently it is home to A Bookclub With A Difference which Jennifer co-facilitates to introduce women to the work of Regena Thomashauer’s work in Pussy: A Reclamation.
Where do you live and what do you love about living there?
I delight in living in Ormond, Melbourne. It is a leafy suburban setting with a very special indigenous park that feels like my second home and my new studio within walking distance.
How do you start your day?
My favourite way to start my day is to wake early, meditate, pop in my head phones and walk into the direction of the rising sun to my favourite park where I can be found most mornings hitting my oracle shuffle and dancing amongst the gum trees. On my way home I will often join a morning laughter call and arrive home ready to start my day with my 11 year old son.
What is your favourite season?
Most definitely spring! Hope springs eternal in this season for me and I love to feel the warmth of the sun on my skin without the heat of summer. New growth and blossom fill my senses and my heart with a sense of abundance and joy.
What makes your heart sing?
Being witness to a woman stepping into more of herself and connecting to the wisdom in her body.
One thing that might surprise people about you?
I studied Criminal Justice as a mature aged student and worked in correctional settings and the Drug and Alcohol sector just prior to having my son.
What is one defining moment in your life?
The day I began reading Women Who Run With The Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes and I devoured the story of Bluebeard and how once you have seen the bones in the cupboard of your own evolution as a woman that there is no turning away from the truth. “The only trust required is to know that when there is one ending there will be another beginning”. Clarissa.
What is your favourite Sensual Seed oracle card?
There is freedom in embracing our wild selves; in allowing our scars and our shadows to be as loved as our light; in loving ourselves and others so much that we sometimes burst apart at the seams, in jumping first and trusting that the Divine plan will catch us.
